"The power of Nature; The Mind of Man"
This Series of sculpture has been
evolving over the past six years and
continues. Artifacts from decades ago
were once used by man to control the
elements of are earth (fire, water, air).
I name this series. "The Power of
Nature; The Mind of Man".
Michael Ray Allison
2004
I t was by chance that Michael Allison saw a documentary when he was 13 years old that would change his life.
"I can't recall now who the artists were, but it was about glassblowing,"explains Michael, who now works full-time at his craft. "It ignited something inside me and it stuck. I saw glass, and how fluid and liquid it was, and I knew right then it was something I wanted to do."
"The chandeliers seem to be a favorite," Michael says of his multi-fauceted (pun intended) ceiling displays. "Glass is fluid and organic, and I want it to be that way when it's solid. So, that's what I shoot for, a look that people usually don't see but I when I'm working with it. Combining the faucets with the glass is a way to communicate that experience with glass."
